Local government of Puerto Princesa conducted a Safety Seal awarding ceremony in two separate shopping centres yesterday, August 23. The first ceremony was held at the NCCC Mall Palawan and the second was at the Robinson’s Place Palawan.
A Safety Seal Certification is given to an establishment that is in compliance with the minimum public health standards by the government including the integration of the StaySafe.ph for contact tracing purposes.
During the ceremony at the NCCC Mall Palawan, City Mayor Lucilo Bayron mentioned that the awarded Safety Seal to the establishments will be able to provide confidence to its customers that the business is following the health and safety protocols set by the government.
“Itong safety seal ay para ma-boost ang confidence ng mga cutomers natin… ito ay mahalaga para sa economy ng Puerto Princesa… ito ‘yung initial step towards beginning to what we have been before,” says Bayron.
Business Permit and Licensing Officer Thess Vicente Rodriguez stressed the importance of business establishments following the protocols being implemented by the government to ensure a safe community. She also mentioned that with the Safety Seal Certificate, it can possibly restart the economy.
Rodriguez also stated that this does not only show the efforts the government is making in combating against COVID-19 but as well as ensuring that each and everyone in the community is doing their part.
Local and franchise businesses were also awarded such as NCCC Mall Palawan, Robinson’s Place Palawan, Mang Inasal, BPI, Jollibee, Chowking, Macao Imperial, and many more.
The award was through the collaboration of the private establishments and the local government of Puerto Princesa.
