The recipients of the P1,500-financial assistance from the City Government of Puerto Princesa identified for the second batch release are expected to receive their assistance once their respective barangays have already liquidated the first batch of financial assistance downloaded to them.
The release for the second batch was due to the instructions of City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron for the barangay captains to submit list of qualified households within their barangays, who are not included in the first release of the P1,500-financial assistance.
In an advisory released by the City Government, City Administrator Atty. Arnel M. Pedrosa said that only nine barangays yet have liquidated and accounted their first release. These are San Isidro, Sta. Cruz, Princesa, Iwahig, Liwanag, Maruyugon, Mabuhay, Kalipay and Bagong Sikat. All other 57 barangays need to account and liquidate the funds released to them last March 24, 2020.
“Sa kadahilanang siyam na barangay pa lamang ang nakapag-account nang mga naunang halaga (P1,500.00) na ipinagkaloob ng lokal na pamahalaan, ang siyam na barangay pa lamang ang na ito ang mapagkalooban nang karagdagang halaga na Php 1,500.00 bawat isang sambahayan o household. Isusunod na ang iba pang barangay sakaling ma-account na nila ang naunang halaga na ipinagkaloob ng City Government,” Atty. Pedrosa said.
In the case of Barangay Sta. Lourdes, the amount of P 3.2-million has been released to them last month, while the funds set for the second release is only P1.6-million. Sta. Monica on the other hand, has been provided with P5.8-million for the first release while only P3.9-million is set for the second release. San Pedro’s first release was P7.5-million for its 5,008 beneficiaries, while P4.9-million is allocated for 3,305 beneficiaries in the second release.
While some of the city’s barangays have lesser amount for the second batch, there are some barangays which the second release found to be much bigger compared to their first release. These are the barangays, which have many missing name of residents in the first batch of the distribution and release of P1,500-financial assistance that started last month.
Barangay Tagburos has only 1,670 beneficiaries for the P2.5-million first release from the city government while its second batch is intended for 1,740 beneficiaries at P2.6-million. Like Tagburos, Barangay San Manuel too has bigger number of identified beneficiaries in the second batch at 5,031 beneficiaries while its first batch has only 3,571 beneficiaries. The city government released P5.3-million during its first release last month, while the expected second release will be P7.5-million. In Barangay Montible, only 64 beneficiaries have been identified and included in the first batch with P96 thousand allocation, while for its second batch, there are already 84 beneficiaries funded with P126 thousand.
The City Government’s financial assistance is part of its response to coronavirus disease (Covid) 19 and sourced from its Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (LDRRMF).
