Ika-121 Araw ng Kalayaan, ipagdiriwang sa Puerto Princesa

Ang monumento ni Dr. Higinio A. Mendoza, na nakatayo sa Mendoza Park. Dito isasagawa ang ikalawang bahagi ng programa para sa pagdiriwang ng ika-121 Kalayaan ng Pilipinas. (Photo file/OCJ-PIA, Palawan)

Pangungunahan ng Pamahalaang Panglungsod ng Puerto Princesa ang pagdiriwang ng ika-121 Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas sa Hunyo 12 na may temang “Kalayaan 2019: Pagbabagong Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan”.

Iniimbitahan ng pamahalaang panglungsod na makiisa sa nasabing pagdiriwang ang lahat ng mga opisyal at empleyado ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Palawan, mga opisyales ng barangay ng lungsod, mga opisyal ng mga ahensiyang nasyunal, mga guro at mag-aaral sa mga paaralan at unibersidad, mga non-government at civic organization.

Dalawang bahagi ang isasagawang pagdiriwang ng araw ng kalayaan sa lungsod. Ang una ay isasagawa sa Puerto Princesa Rizal Park kung saan dito gaganapin ang pagtataas ng watawat at pag-kanta ng Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas.

Ang pagtataas ng watawat ay pangungunahan nina Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron, Gob. Jose Ch. Alvarez at Western Command (WECOM) Commander Vice Admiral Rene V. Medina, AFP.

Pangunuhan naman ni City Councilor Maria Nancy M. Socrates ang panunumpa sa watawat at susundan ito ng pag-aalay ng bulaklas sa monumento ni Gat. Jose Rizal na pangungunahan naman ni Mayor Bayron, Gob. Alvarez, Congressman Gil P. Acosta, Sr., ComWescom Medina at susundan ng lahat ng opisyales at mga kinatawan ng mga nagsipagdalong ahensiya at organisasyon.

Susundan ito ng civil/military parade mula Rizal Park patungong Mendoza Park. Dito naman isasagawa ang ikalawang bahagi ng programa sa pamamagitan ng pag-aalay ng bulaklak sa monument ni Dr. Higinio A. Mendoza na tinaguriang bayani ng Palawan.

Dito rin isasagawa ang pagbibigay ng mensahe ng mga inimbitang opisyal tulad nina ComWescom Medina, Dr. Susana M. Bautista, tagapamahala ng Dibisyon ng mga Paaralaang Panglungsod ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon, Punong Lungsod Bayron, Gob. Alvarez at Kong. Acosta.

Ayon kay Mayor Bayron, ang pagsasagawa ng taunang pagdiriwang na ito ay upang laging alalahanin at ipamulat sa mga kabataan ang kabayanihan, pagmamahal sa bayan at pagsasakripisyo ng ating mga filipinong ninuno upang maipaglaban ang kalayaan at democrasya ng ating bansa.
