Mandaragat wants to rid streets, public places of obstruction, illegally parked vehicles

Punong Barangay Gerry Abad of Brgy. Mandaragat said that they are now crafting a barangay ordinance on parking in a bid to remove obstructions from streets and other public places.

Speaking before his constituents for their barangay’s continuing information and education campaign, he informed that they will strictly enforce once the ordinance against parking is done to make their barangay clean and orderly.

“Kung may sasakyan tayo dapat may sarili tayong parking. Hindi ang parking doon sa kalsada,” he said.

It has been observerd, especially in urban barangays in the city that vehicles park on both sides of the road or double parking, caused inconvenience to the project.

Imposition of fines, issuance of violation ticket, impoundment of the vehicles are among the penalties for violators.

“Yung mga matitigas ang ulo. Ti-tiketan at i-towing (ang mga sasakyan),” hé explained.

They will coordinate with the city government regarding impounding, depository and storage of their apprehended vechile.

Abad said that ideally only five minutes time for parking will be allowed once their ordinance is already passed and enacted.

“Ang mga paparada sa kalye o tabi ng kalsada dapat 5 minuto lang eh, pảra hindi na maka-abala pa,” he said.
