On the first day of the pediatric vaccination drive held earlier at the SM City Puerto Princesa, City Mayor Lucilo Cecil Bayron expressed his joy upon seeing the parents who are seemingly eager in lining up their kids in the age group of 5-11 years old for their first jab.

“Nung simula nito, pinag-usapan namin ng vaccination team, ang sabi 70% ng total population para makakuha tayo ng herd immunity,” said the Puerto Princesa City Mayor, as he also imparted that as of yesterday, Wednesday, February 24, 2022, the city has already vaccinated about 56% of the total population of the city.

However, Bayron also said that the vaccination drive for the age group of 11-17 years old have weakened in the past days.

Now that the inoculation of the age group of 5-11 years old has started, he also said that he is hopeful for the fast-tracking and gradual increase of the vaccination rates.

We have to go out of our way na makumbinsi yung mga tao na magpabakuna,”” the City Mayor said.

The city encourages parents to register their kids, either on the online registration link or on the off-site registration areas that the Puerto Princesa City Covac Facebook page have provided.

To register in the off-site registration areas, parents may go to the following: SM City Puerto Princesa, Robinsons Place Palawan, PPUR Office, and respective barangay halls.
