Pork products mula ASF-affected areas, bawal ipasok sa Puerto Princesa

Ipinagbabawal na sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa ang pagpasok ng pork products mula sa mga lugar na apektado ng African Swine Flu.

Ayon kay City Administrator Arnel Pedrosa, noong nakalipas na linggo ay binigyan na niya ng kautusan ang City Veterinary Office na huwag nang papasukin ang mga pork product na hindi dumaan sa pagsusuri ng National Meat Inspection Service o NMIS.

Ito ay kahit ngayong linggo pa lang posibleng ilabas ang Executive Order sa pagbabawal nito.

“Hindi naman ibig sabihin na kapag walang eo ay hindi ka mag iimplement, there are enough laws para iimplement ang banning ng ganiyang activity, kung may nececesity talaga para i-regulate siya,” giit pa niya.

Sa katunayan kinumpirma ni Pedrosa na noong nakalipas na araw ay mayroong frozen pork products na hindi niya pinayagan na makapasok sa syudad at ipinabalik sa lugar ng pinanggalingan.

Tiniyak naman ni Pedrosa na ang pagbabawal na ito ay walang magiging epekto sa darating na holiday season dahil ang hindi lamang pinapayagan na makapasok sa Syudad ay ang mga pork products na hindi dumaan sa inspection ng NMIS.

Matatandaang dahil sa ASF ay maraming baboy ang namatay sa mga lalawigan ng Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga at Quezon City.
