Nagsagawa ng prayer rally ang Coalition of Concerned Families, Schools, and Churches in Palawan sa Mendoza Park ngayong gabi ng Setyembre 19.
Ayon sa pastor ng Life Church na si Bishop Ancho Buenaventura, kapag naipasa ang SOGIE Bill ay malalamangan ng mga LGBIQIA+ ang nakararami dahil aniya, mas maraming madi-discriminate kapag naipasa ito.
“We want a fair show, we want everybody to understand that this, ang ginagawa natin is prayer for family, and nobody should be discriminated, the straight, the gay, the queer, everybody, what is their sexual orientations (whatever their sexual orientation), we cannot stop that. But, we have to protect each other. We don’t have to demanda or ganun dahil kay SOGIE (bill). This is our stand towards the truth of God’s word.”
(Gusto namin pantay-pantay lahat. Gusto naming maintindihan ng lahat na ito ay pagdarasal para sa pamilya, at walang dapat na binababa, straight man o hindi. Hindi na natin mapipigilan ang sexual orientation eh. Pero kailangan nating protektahan ang isa’t isa. Hindi natin kailangang magdemandahan dahil sa SOGIE bill. Ito ang paninidigan namin sa katotohanan sa salita ng Diyos.)
Dagdag pa ni Buenaventura, kung ang ipinapanukalang SOGIE bill ay magiging Anti-Discrimination bill ay susuportahan nila ito.
“We’re for anti-discrimination. But not just for the SOGIE. Kasi, if you push for your freedom, what if others are not according to your desire, then they will be disadvantaged, at may mga batas na tayo for that. We love the LGBT community, lalo na dito sa Pilipinas.”
Mayroon ding ipinapaikot na mga petition forms na ayon sa kanila, ipapasa ito sa Sangguniang Panlunsod sa mga susunod na buwan.
