Puerto Princesa Bay, mayroon muling red tide

Pinag-iingat ngayon ng mga kinauukulan ang publiko hinggil sa muling paglitaw ng red tide sa lungsod.

Sa Local Red Tide Warning na ibinaba ng Tanggapan ng Punong Lungsod kahapon na pirmado ni City Administrator Arnel Pedrosa, nakasaad na positibo muli sa red tide toxin ang Puerto Bay base sa resulta ng red tide monitoring ng City Government at Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). Ito ay dahil sa umabot sa 185.38 ugSTXeg/100g ng shellfish meat ang nakitang Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) toxin level sa isa sa mga sample na mula sa nasabing lugar.

Kaya mahigpit na pinaaalalahan ang publiko na huwag munang manguha, magbenta, at kumain ng lahat ng uri ng shells at alamang mula sa nabanggit na lugar ng siyudad upang maiwasan ang posibleng pagkalason.

Gaya ng dati, nilinaw ng mga kinauukulan na pwedeng kainin ang isda, pusit, mga alimasag at iba pang mga marine product na mula sa Puerto Bay na hindi nabanggit sa advisory basta’t siguraduhing sariwa ang mga ito, natanggalan ng mga lamang-loob at hinugasang maigi bago lutuin.
