With a theme, Pananaw: Visions of Future Filipino Architecture, three architecture organizations in Palawan altogether commemorated the national architecture week, December 2 – 8 with various activities in the City.
Palawan Chapters of United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), United Architects of the Philippines Graduate Auxiliary (UAPGA) and United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA) conducted a weeklong exhibit at SM City Puerto Princesa, community outreach programs with gift giving and feeding at Sitio Bucana, Barangay Ihawig, Puerto Princesa, and a seminar on building code.
The exhibit showcased the outputs of the UAP members on various designs on commercial buildings, residential, industrial and many others in Palawan.
According to UAPGA President Joyce Collantes the activities will foster camaraderie among the members and will bring positive impact to the community and the members, as whole.
They had also a motorcade and performed sticker campaign. The group reflected their slogan through stickers that are being posted in tricycles plying in the City, stating, “For your plans and designs choose an architect.”
This is to ensure that designs and plans are within the approved specifications, safe and within the requirements of the national building code.
