Pinaburan ng Commission on Human Rights (CHR) ang pag-apruba ng Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Puerto Princesa sa Resolution No. 1262-2021 na may titulong ” A Resolution Adopting National Advisory No. 2020-08-001, Series of 2020 of the National Commission of the Indigenous People (NCIP) to Stop, Prohibit, and Report Any Transactions, Dealings and Negotiations of Selling and Transfer of Lands Within the Ancestral Domain.”
Ito iniakda ni City Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Hon. Johnmart Salunday kasama ang iba pang konsehal ng lungsod.
Layunin nito na protektahan ang mga lupaing ninuno at karapatan ng mga katutubong nagsisilbing may-ari ng mga nasabing lupain upang mapanatili ang integridad ng kanilang kultura.
“The State shall recognize, respect and protect the rights of indigenous cultural communities to preserve and develop their cultures, traditions and institutions. It shall consider these rights of the formulation of national plans and policies.” ayon sa Article XIV, Section 17 ng 1987 Philippine Constitution na binanggit sa nasabing resolusyon.
