Pormal ng inilunsad kahapon, Marso 2, 2021 ng Philippine Red Cross Palawan Chapter ang Saliva Testing na ang tanging layunin ay mas mapadali, makakatipid at less contact umano sa pagkuha ng mga sample kumpara sa nakagawian na RT-PCR at Swab Test upang matukoy kung ang bawat isa ay positibo o negatibo sa sakit na COVID-19.

Narito ang paraan ng booking kung ikaw ay magpapa- saliva test:
* BUKSAN ANG BROWSER
– i-type ang book.redcross.org.ph o i-scan ang QR code.
* PILIIN ang “Book a Saliva Test”.
– pumili ng petsa at oras, at i-fill-out ang iyong pangalan at iba pang hinihinging detalye. Pindutin ang “Book Now”.
* BILLING DETAILS
– I-fill out ang inyong billing details at pumili ng payment method. (Credit/Debit card, GCash o GrabPay)
* I-CHECK ANG IYONG EMAIL
– I-check ang iyong order confirmation kung saan makikita ang iyong schedule para sa iyong saliva test at link sa e-CIF. Kailangan mo itong ipakita sa site.
* I-FILL OUT ANG E-CIF
– Bago pumunta sa scheduled date, kailangan itong mai-fillout. Magkakaroon ka ng “RETRIEVAL CODE” pag katapos mong mag submit ng e-CIF. I-take note ito dahil kailangan mo itong ipakita sa site.
* GO TO THE VENUE/SITE
– Pumunta sa venue sa itinakdang schedule. Pumunta ng 15 minutes bago ang nakatakdang oras para sa beripikasyon ng iyong booking.
* HINTAYIN ANG RESULTA
– Matatanggap mo ang resulta sa iyong email sa loob ng 24 to 48 hours.
Narito naman ang mga dapat at hindi dapat gawin kapag kukuhaan ng laway:
* Huwag kumain, uminom, magmumog o sipilyo, manigarilyo, vape at mag lipstick sa loob ng 30 minutes bago magbigay ng laway.
* Mag-sanitize ng mga kamay gamit ang alcohol.
* Simulan mag-ipon ng laway sa bibig.
* Kunin ang specimen container at buksan.
* Gamit ang straw o imbudo ay padaluyin ang laway pababa.
* Siguraduhin na mayroon 1-2 ml ang makukolektang laway sa container.
* Takpan ng maigi at punasan ang vial, itapon ang ang ginamit na tissue sa basurahan na mayroon dilaw na plastic bag.
* Lagyan ng barcode ang vial at ilagay sa “rack”.
* Mag sanitize muli ng mga kamay bago umalis sa collection center.

Dagdag pa ni Beronio dumaan umano ito sa masusing pag aaral mula sa mga eksperto sa Maynila.
“It went through a lot of studies and a lot presentation to the authorities before we came up with this with the approval of the Department of Health [DOH] actually it started September 4, 2020 so our Chairman Sen. Richard Gordon together with the experts from UP Manila and other members of the team. Then we presented to the UP ethics review board and it was approved September 15, 2020. And from September 16 to 20 we we’re given instructions to collect sample [Saliva] po for study and then it was presented to the DOH COVID Laboratory Experts Panel and by January 4, 2021 the DOH required 1,000 Saliva Samples in a matter of 3 days naka collect po kami ng 1,000 na laway [Saliva].”
Eksakto umano ayon kay Beronio ang resulta ng Saliva Test tulad ng sa RT-PCR test
“It turned out 98.11% accurate so ibig sabihin halos wala silang pinagkaiba and that’s the reason why approved po ito ng Department of Health [DOH] yung saliva specimen as alternative for the RT-PCR test.”
Hindi na umano kailangan pang dumaan sa Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) para suriin ito. At dahil dito ay kinakailangan umano ng Philippine Red Cross na mag dagdag ng mga pasilidad para dito.
“Niri-reauire po si Philippine Red Cross ng random checking every 100 patient dapat mayroon po kaming isang swab sample na kukunin na dapat po correct yung result so it is still a continue process. Hindi na po ito kailangan ng review or checking RITM [Research Institute for Tropical Medicine] provided na continuously na ibibigay po namin itong random checks na ito.” -Agnes Beronio OIC Administration Philippine Red Cross Palawan Chapter
“In the whole country the directive of our Chairman [Sen. Gordon] is to implement saliva collection in all PRC chapters nationwide. So right now we have 13 Molecular Laboratories all over the country.” -Agnes Beronio OIC Administration Philippine Red Cross Palawan Chapter
Samantala, mahigit P2,000.00 lamang ang babayaran ng sinuman magpapa saliva test ayon sa Philippine Red Cross Palawan Chapter na kung titingnan ay mas mura kumpara sa Swab Test.
