With dazzling gowns and pretty faces, 20 lovely candidates shown off their beauty and talents as they compete for the title of the first ever Subaraw Festival Queen representing their agencies, barangays and municipalities.
One of the highlights of the event was the long gown competition that showcases Filipino designer gowns and the question and answer portion that tackled more about biodiversity.
The said pageant was attended by the city government officials including the City Mayor Lucilo Bayron and the councilors.
Sahara Wagner of Palawan Hope Christian School crowned as the first ever Subaraw Festival Queen, according to Wagner, the title she won was a “blessing” and she is excited to turn over the crown to the next Subaraw Festival Queen.
“I feel very blessed and overwhelmed to be the first ever Subaraw Festival Queen and I am already excited to crown the next one,” said Wagner.
Wagner said that as a Queen, she wanted to promote sustainable eco-tourism and empower the community.
“I want to promote my advocacies on sustainable eco-tourism and community empowerment,” she said.
She added that she wanted to be an inspiration, influencing others through social media and to bring environmental awareness and protection.
“My first move aside from being a role model and an inspiration to others [is that] I want to influence others. I think the first thing that I will do is post in social media and make them aware how important biodiversity is and how we could protect it,” she said.
