Has there been a time in your life when you stopped and thought of your purpose in life? Many have said to themselves things ranging from ‘I was born to…’ to ‘What am I living my life for?’
We fill different niches of society. But do you know God can call you to serve Him whatever your circumstance? Take note of Abraham. He was a liar, a common sinner (Genesis 12:12-13). But God had great plans for him. He set Abraham to be the father of a great nation, and promised blessings upon blessings on him (Genesis 12:2-3).
But why did God call Abraham to be the father of a great nation, despite his sinfulness? That is because of His mercy on His children (Psalm 6).
Countless times have God’s people Israel rebelled against God, only to call upon Him when times get tough, but that era has long gone, for today everyone, whether Jew or Gentile, have been forgiven by God by the blood of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins. (Ephesians 1:7, John 1:29).
By the blood of Jesus, we have been forgiven from our sins. All we need to do is repent, believe and have faith that God delivered us from our sins. Even a sinful woman (presumably a prostitute) was forgiven from her sins because of her faith in Jesus. (Luke 7:39, 47-48, 50) Mary Magdalene is one famous example, too.
So don’t forget, God has a purpose for you. It’s no accident that God put you wherever you are. He has great plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28). All God asks for in return is an open and understanding heart, and faith in His promises (Isaiah 40:28).
