An alleged illegal logger was caught in a monitoring operation conducted by Bataraza police on Saturday, August 17.
The suspect was identified as Ramses Beldia Castigador, 21 years old, farmer, and a resident of Barangay Sandoval, Bataraza, Palawan.
Castigador was caught in the act of illegally transporting fresh cut lumber at Sitio San Vicente, Barangay Sandoval, Bataraza, Palawan.
Recovered from his possession were eight (8) pieces lumber with an estimated volume of more or less sixty-four (64) board feet.
The suspect is now under the custody of police authorities and will be charged with violation of P.D 705 or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.
