The Local Government of Busuanga took the 9th spot out of 611 categorized as 3rd and 4th class municipalities on Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Resiliency and Infrastructure in the recent Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) ranking of the Nation Competitiveness Council.
Mayor Elizabeth Cervantes, on Tuesday, February 8, formally received a Plaque of Recognition from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) MIMAROPA for the award.
According to CMCI, the provincial rankings are based on population and income weighted average of the overall scores of cities and municipalities under a province. The higher the score, the more competitive a city or municipality is. Busuanga has maintained its improvement on rankings from 2018 to 2020.
Economic dynamism is associated with activities that create social expansion of business and industries, including notably higher employment.
Government efficiency is based on the quality and reliability of the local government in its services and support for effective and sustainable productive expansion.
Infrastructure refers to the physical establishments and buildings that connect, expand and sustain a locality and surroundings to enable the provision of goods and services, while resiliency looks into the immediate responsiveness to ensure the continuous growth of the LGU.
