“Pandemya” – a short film created by a local content creator and youth leader from Life Church Palawan
Juderick Arcilla, is this year’s first runner up for Salidayeg Christian Online Short Film Contest.
“Pandemya” was first uploaded in Arcilla’s facebook account last May. It tells the agony of all dealing with the unseen enemy, the COVID-19 that stopped the whole world from almost anything.
“Naging inspiration ko talaga gumawa ng video is yung mga taong naapektuhan ng COVID kaya naging title nya Pandemya. Nakikita ko po kasi na ang daming nawawalan ng pag asa sa panahong ito, sinikap ko talaga gumawa ng video na ‘yan para maging daluyan ako ng hope sa iba sa pamamgitan ng shortfilm,” Arcilla said.
Even without monetary cash prize, Arcilla is happy to be chosen in the first ever online competition for Christian film makers in the Philippines. As first placer he received different kits, products and books. Arcilla’s entry is among the 70 applications for the competition.
“Pandemya is a very timely film, with all the negativity and uncertainty na nangyayari it is reminding us we are not alone, and God is with us and we just have to trust his plans and promises,” shares Arcilla during the awarding ceremony held online last August 24.
Arcilla is a Multi-media arts graduate from STI Puerto Princesa City.
