Nahaharap sa patong-patong na reklamo ang isang US citizen matapos na magbirong papatayin ang lahat ng pasahero at papasabogin umano ang bomba sa loob ng sinasakyan nitong eroplano patungong Laguindingan Airport noong February 20, ganap na 9:42 ng gabi.

Sa inilabas na press release ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), nanggaling umano ang eroplano sa Mactan-Cebu at patungong Laguindingan Airport na may sakay na 73 pasahero nang mangyari ang insidente.

Nang makalapag na sa Laguindingan Airport sa Misamis Oriental ang eroplano at kasalukuyang nasa “disembarkation process” ay bigla umano kinuha ng dayuhan ang bagahe nito at tinakot ang mga pasahero at crew ng nasabing eroplano.

“I can shoot you all, and I can trigger the bomb,” sigaw umano ng dayuhan.

Agad umano itong ipinaalam ng crew sa control tower ng paliparan at inalerto ang PNP-Aviation Security Unit at CAAP Security and Intelligence Unit na nagsagawa naman ng inspeksyon sa mga bagahe ng mga pasahero kung saan ay walang indikasyon ng explosive device.

Hindi na idinitalye pa ang pagkakakilanlan ng US citizen na nahaharap sa kasong Presidential Decree No. 1727 na may kulong na 5 taon at hindi baba sa multang P40,000.

Samantala, nagpaalala naman ang Airport Manager ng Laguindingan na si Job De Jesus na malaking perwisyo umano ang iniwan nang pagbibiro ng dayuhan at siniseryuso umano ng pamunoan ang anomang banta sa kaligtasan ng mga pasahero at crew sa eroplano at maging sa paliparan.

“We consistently emphasize to passengers and airport users that joking or making bomb jokes at the airport or on an airplane is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught will face serious charges, including corresponding penalties and imprisonment,” pahayag ni De Jesus.
