The House of Representatives’ Committee on Basic Education has approved the proposed law that will provide P1,000 monthly allowance for basic education students in the country, from kindergarten to Grade 12.

In his post, Batangas Congressman Leandro Legarda Leviste announced that the committee expressed support to his sponsored House Bill No. 27, National Students Allowance Program Act.

Party List Congressman Chel Diokno also informed this development, emphasizing that this will help substantial number of kindergarten to Grade 12 students.

Basic Education Committee Chair Roman Romulo also signaled strong support for the measure’s passage,” Congressman Diokno informed.

He said that they are working not only for K-12 students but also for tertiary students, which they will deliberate during the next hearing.

Jude Acidre para dito,” Diokno further said.

Congressman Leviste said that they are pushing for this legislative measure to support the dreams of thousands of Filipino youth, which the national government should invest.
