Inflation noong disyembre 2024, pasok sa target; bsp nanatiling maingat sa  panganib ng pagtaas ng presyo

Ang inflation noong Disyembre 2024 ay naitala sa 2.9 porsyento, na pasok sa itinakdang saklaw ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) na 2.3 hanggang 3.1 porsyento. Dahil dito, ang kabuuang inflation para sa buong taon ay umabot sa 3.2 porsyento, na tumama rin sa target na 2-4 porsyento para sa 2024. Ipinapakita ng resulta na nananatiling matatag ang inflation sa loob ng target na saklaw, ayon sa pagsusuri ng BSP.

Gayunpaman, nananatili ang posibilidad ng mas mataas na inflation dahil sa inaasahang pagtaas ng pasahe sa transportasyon at singil sa kuryente. Samantala, ang mas mababang taripa sa pag-aangkat ng bigas ay nananatiling pangunahing salik na maaaring magpababa ng inflation. Bukod dito, inaasahang magiging matatag ngunit banayad ang domestic demand, kung saan ang bumababang inflation at pagbuti ng kondisyon sa merkado ng trabaho ang magpapalakas sa pribadong paggastos.

Sa kabila nito, maaaring makaapekto ang mga pandaigdigang hamon sa aktibidad ng ekonomiya at kumpiyansa ng merkado. Sa pangkalahatan, ang pananaw na nananatiling nakaangkla ang inflation sa target ay nagbibigay-daan para sa BSP na magpatuloy sa mas maluwag na polisiya sa pananalapi. Subalit, patuloy nilang babantayan ang mga panganib na maaaring magdulot ng mas mataas na inflation, lalo na ang mga salik na konektado sa mga isyung geopolitical.
