Hinamon ng Malacañang si dating presidential spokesperson Harry Roque na umuwi sa Pilipinas at harapin ang mga kaso laban sa kanya, sa halip na maglabas ng pahayag mula sa ibang bansa habang ginagamit umano ang isyu upang idiin ang gobyerno.

Kasunod ito ng inilabas na video ni Roque sa social media kung saan sinabi niyang siya ay nasa The Hague, Netherlands—ang parehong lungsod kung saan nakakulong si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte dahil sa mga kasong crimes against humanity. Sa naturang video, binatikos ni Roque ang gobyerno dahil sa umano’y pagtatatag ng tracker team na aniya’y walang ibang layunin kundi ang pagwaldas ng pondo ng bayan.

Ngunit giit ng Malacañang, ang paghahanap kay Roque ay bahagi ng lehitimong proseso ng batas. Kung tunay aniyang may malasakit si Roque sa kaban ng bayan, mas makabubuti umanong harapin nito ang mga kaso upang matigil na ang paggastos ng pamahalaan sa operasyon para siya’y matunton.
May bisa nang warrant of arrest laban kay Roque, Cassandra Ong, at iba pa, ayon sa Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 118. Ang kaso ay may kaugnayan sa umano’y operasyon ng Lucky South 99—isang Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) sa Porac, Pampanga—na iniugnay sa human trafficking.
Base sa desisyon ni Presiding Judge Rene Reyes, kinasuhan ang grupo sa ilalim ng Section 4(1) at Section 6(c) ng Republic Act No. 9208 o ang Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003. Ang Department of Justice ang naghain ng kaso noong Abril.

Lumilitaw sa imbestigasyon ng DOJ na hindi lamang legal na kinatawan ng Whirlwind Corporation—ang kumpanyang nagpaupa ng lupa sa Lucky South 99—si Roque, kundi siya rin ang opisyal na kumatawan sa nasabing kumpanya. Nilinaw rin ng DOJ na ang isinampang kaso ay resulta ng imbestigasyon at ebidensiya, at hindi bahagi ng anumang political persecution gaya ng ipinapahiwatig ni Roque.
