Pagpapauwi ng mga LSIs at ROFs, pansamantalang tinigil

Suspendido muna ang pagpapauwi ng Locally Stranded Individuals at Returning Overseas Filipinos sa kani-kanilang mga probinsya.

Ito ang inihayag ngayong araw, June 26, ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque sa live presser ng Malacañang.

Ayon kay Roque, ito ay matapos aprubahan ng Inter-Agency Task Force ang temporary moratorium sa mercy flights at 2GO voyage na sinasakyan ng mga LSI at ROF pabalik sa kanilang mga probinsya.

Paliwanag ng kalihim, ang desisyon ng IATF ay alinsunod sa naging kahilingan ng ilang Local Government Units na itigil muna ang “Balik-Probinsya Program” dahil sa pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa kanilang mga lugar na sinasabing nagsimula nang umuwi ang mga LSI at ROF nan a-expose sa nakamamatay na virus.

Pero pinayagan parin anya ang dalawang biyahe ng 2GO vessel na una nang na-schedule bago pa man mapirmahan ang moratorium.

“Sang-ayon po sa ating usapin kay Sec. Galvez, Chief Implementor, nagkakaroon po tayo ng temporary moratorium sap ag-uwi ng Locally Stranded Individuals. Pero ngayon po, pinayagan ang biyahe ng dalawang 2GO vessel kung saan sakay nito ang ilang LSIs dahil ang preparasyon para sa kanilang biyahe ay nagawa na bago pa ang moratorium,” ani Roque sa live presser ng Malacañang.

Sa bagong sistemang ipatutupad, sinabi rin ni Roque na isasailalim muna sa RT-PCR test ang mga LSI at ROF bago sila papayagang makauwi sa kanilang mga probinsya upang matiyak na hindi sila na-exposed sa nakamamatay na virus.

“Ang sabi po ni Sec. Galvez, dumating na po ang ating 1M testing kits for PCR at pwede na nating bigyan ang lahat ng LSIs kasama ang mga Overseas Filipino Workers ng PCR bago po sila pauwiin nang hindi na po magreklamo ang mga LGUs na ang nagdadala ng sakit sa kanilang mga lugar ay ang mga LSIs,” dagdag ni Roque.

Matatandaan na sa lalawigan ng Palawan at lungsod ng Puerto Princesa, ilan sa mga umuwing LSI at ROF ay nagpositibo sa COVID-19 matapos isailalim sa RT-PCR test.
