A 5.4 earthquake hits Occidental Mindoro and other parts of Luzon on early Saturday morning, October 17, 2020, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Based on the Phivolcs Latest Earthquake Bulletin Information, the exact time of occurrence was recorded at 04:06 AM with epicenter at 23 kilometers southwest near Looc, Occidental Mindoro.
The earthquake that occurred has a tectonic origin with 33 km depth of focus.
The strong quake was felt at Intensity 4 in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro and Tagaytay City.
Intensity 3 in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro; Muntinlupa City; Makati City; Quezon City.
The quake of lesser intensity was also recorded in the provinces of Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, other parts of Batangas, Marikina, Las Piñas, Malabon, and Quezon City in the national capital region.
Phivolcs said that aftershocks can be expected from the quake, but without any damages.
