8 former rebels in Palawan receive P25, 000 financial aid each from the government

Eight former members of the communist group who voluntarily surrendered to authorities have each received a P25,000 financial aid Monday, February 7, coming from the Local Social Integration Program of the Palawan Provincial Government.

Each beneficiary claimed the financial aid in a short ceremony headed by Provincial Social Development Officer Abigail Ablana, Retired POP Deputy Director for Operations COL. Gabriel Lopez and PCOL Andrico Nangit of the Provincial Police Office held at the Capitol’s VJR Hall.

A press release published by the Palawan Provincial Information Office (PIO) disclosed that a total of 173 former rebels have surrendered and received their P25, 000 local social integration cash aid in able to help them start a new life.

The Local Social Integration Program is part of the initiative of the Palawan Provincial Government through Executive Order No. 70 which aims to end the insurgency in the province through “Whole of Nation Approach” from combined efforts of each agencies.
