A local cook known as ‘Cody,’ 36-years old, was apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Culion Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Palawan in Barangay Libis, Culion, Palawan on Friday, May 31.
The suspect, a resident of Barangay Balala, Culion, was caught after undercover officers purchased 0.250 grams of illegal drugs valued at P1,000. This transaction facilitated the operation leading to his arrest.
Further investigation revealed an additional gram of suspected shabu in his possession, estimated to be worth P5,000. Authorities also confiscated P14,000 in cash, a cellphone, a motorcycle, and the marked money used in the operation.
The suspect’s arrest is part of an intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the region. Culion MPS and PDEU Palawan continue to perform operations aimed at eradicating the proliferation of illegal drugs within their jurisdiction.
Currently, the suspect is in the custody of Culion MPS and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
