Three men were arrested in Sitio Agis-Agis, Barangay Sapa, Bataraza on April 27 after authorities caught them allegedly transporting illegal petroleum products.
The suspects were identified as aliases “Alsan,” 40; “Nasrolla,” 32; and “Mudsmar,” 31, all residents of Bataraza.

According to a report from the Police Regional Office MIMAROPA (PRO MIMAROPA), authorities launched an operation following information received about the suspects’ illegal activities. The operation was carried out jointly by the Palawan Police Provincial Office Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Bataraza Municipal Police Station.

Confiscated from the suspects were approximately 110 containers filled with diesel, valued at around ₱180,000. The boat allegedly used to transport the petroleum products was also seized.

The suspects will face charges for violating Presidential Decree No. 1865, which penalizes certain prohibited acts related to petroleum and petroleum products under Batas Pambansa Bilang 33.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine if more individuals are involved in the operation.
