A woman was killed after she jumped off a running tricycle in Barangay San Manuel, around 10:00 PM on Sunday, for fear when an altercation was brewing between the tricycle driver and the owner of a parked car he hit.

The victim was identified as Jenny Ramos Bartolo and a resident of Purok Pagbabago of the same Barangay.

Bartolo was rushed to a nearby private hospital but because of the severe head injury, she was declared dead-on-arrival by the doctors.

Based on the police report, the victim was on her way home from BM Beach with her friends onboard a tricycle driven by John Mark Lamboso when the driver hit a car parked on the side of the road and another one coming from the opposite direction.

Lamboso stopped and his passengers started to get off the tricycle but when he saw one of the drivers of the car he hit was approaching, he immediately jumped into his tricycle and escaped together with Bartolo.

A chase-down occurred that made the victim panic and stepped out of the tricycle while moving that led to her death.

Lamboso explained that he ran away because of fear for his life and he has no idea what happened to his passenger until the investigator told him during the investigation.

Meanwhile, driver Lamboso is now at the custody of the City Police and charges of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide and Driving under the Influence of Liquor will be filed against him.
