Sixteen (16) young residents of the Bahay Pag-Asa Youth Center (BPYC) have successfully completed their education in both elementary and secondary levels during the past school year of 2022-2023. These youths have displayed remarkable dedication and excellence in their studies.
Among these individuals, six have graduated from Senior High School, showcasing their commitment to education and their aspirations for a brighter future.
Meanwhile, nine have completed their Junior High School education through the Alternative Learning System (ALS) provided by the Department of Education, which offers opportunities for young learners to pursue their studies despite life’s challenges. One young individual has also successfully finished elementary school.
The Bahay Pag-Asa Youth Center (BPYC), under the leadership of the Provincial Government headed by Governor V. Dennis M. Socrates, serves as a refuge and support system for troubled Palaweño youth, specifically those categorized as Children In Conflict with the Law (CICL).
It is an exemplary model of community and government collaboration to give these young individuals a second chance in the face of legal issues.
The Provincial Welfare and Development Office is currently implementing youth-focused programs and services at BPYC, with the aim of providing these youths with the opportunity to reshape their futures.
