The Programang Pang-Edukasyon para sa Palaweño (PPP) of the provincial government will accept 17 medical scholars this first semester of 2019, in addition to the 110 medical students they are currently supporting.

IHELP-Education Unit’s Aldrin Nepomuceno said that they will conduct screening and interview on May 29, 2019 at the Provincial Capitol for the interested applicants.

The selection of the qualified scholars is on first come, first served basis. A reorientation will also conduct a reorientation to existing medical scholars.

Nepomuceno explained that the applicants should pass the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT).

Under the program, the provincial government will provide P70,000 as assistance to medical scholar every semester, until such time that the medical scholar will complete his or her studies.

Among the successful beneficiaries of the program were Dr. Pennsylvania O. Baluyut, Dr. Joel Victor P. Rabanal, Dr. Daylara B. Silva, Dr. Harold Ian C. Iquin, Dr. Emmanuel D. Alfaro Jr., Dr. Ariane May G. Dacillo, and Dr. Shaiyna Nur O. Mangaccat.
