The body identified as Wenceslao Marikit was found floating along Cacnipa Island, Sitio Baybay Daraga, Barangay Port Barton, San Vicente last October 22 at around 8 AM.
According to the report, Marikit, 64, was a married fisherman and a resident of Sitio Barumbong in Brgy. Port Barton.
A fisherman from Sitio Baybay Daraga found the body along Cacnipa Island and reported it to the authorities. The cadaver was retrieved by the personnel of 3rd Platoon, 2nd PPMFC and Philippine Coastguard.
Drowning is considered as the cause of death based on the initial results of the post mortem examination performed by Dr. Estorninos Jr. of San Vicente Regional Health Unit.
