Mas pinaigting na Inter-agency Maritime Operations sa West Philippine Sea, inilunsad

Sa gitna ng umiinit na usapin sa West Philippine Sea (WPS), inilunsad ng Area Task Force West (ATF-West) ng National Task Force for West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) ang mas maigting na pagtutulungan ng mga kaugnay na ahensiya.

“These inter-agency efforts are very essential in the way we address the national concerns in the WPS. The ATF-West shall continue to do so to ensure that our government forces and agencies will be able to collaborate, complement and support each other in performing respective mandates in support to national policy and strategy,” ayon kay VADM. Ramil Roberto Enriquez, chairman ng ATF-West batay sa ibinahaging impormasyong ng tagapagsalita ng ATF-West na si Maurice Philip Alexis “MP” Albayda kahapon, Abril 12, 2021.

Naisakatuparan aniya ito sa pamamagitan ng pag-deploy at patuloy pang pagpapadala ng mga sea asset ng mga kinauukulan sa iba’t ibang bahagi sa WPS upang magsagawa ng maritime and sovereignty patrols at iba pang law enforcement activities, kabilang na sa Julian Felipe Reef, Pag-asa Cay, Recto Bank, at iba’ pang parte ng Kalayaan Island Group (KIG).

Gaya na lamang ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na nagpadala ng BRP Cabra (MRRV 4409) habang ang Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ng Department of Agriculture ay nagpadala naman ng dalawa o higit pang barko sa WPS.

Sa Western Command naman, ang unified command ng AFP sa Lalawigan ng Palawan ay nag-deploy ng mga Philippine Navy vessel, ang BRP Dagupan City (LS 551), BRP Apolinario Mabini (PS 36), BRP Magat Salamat (PS 20), at BRP Miguel Malvar (PS 19). Magbibigay din ang mga ito ng suporta at assistance sa mga barko ng Coastguard District-Palawan at BFAR.

WHOLE-OF-NATION EFFORTS

Binigyang diin din ng ATF-West ang kahalagahan ng pakikiisa ng lahat ng sektor, lalong-lalo na ng mga mamamayan upang mapagtagumpayan ang kinakaharap ngayon ng bansa sa gitna ng mas pagiging agresibo ng China.

“Likewise, the ATF-West continues to urge Palaweños and all Filipinos to know and understand their role, and to take their part in the national’s stake in the WPS, so that through the whole-of-nation efforts, the national interests and security will be safeguarded for the present and future generation of the Filipino people,” ang pakiusap ng grupo.
