A groundbreaking medical mission recently unfolded in the heart of Palawan, leaving a remarkable impact on the lives of 1,736 residents.

This humanitarian initiative, which spanned from August 18 to 20, 2023, took place at the San Vicente District Hospital.

The medical mission was brought by Sui Generis Missions, in collaboration with the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Palawan Chapter and with the support of the Provincial Government of Palawan under the leadership of Governor V. Dennis M. Socrates, partnered with the Municipal Government of San Vicente and the Philippine Red Cross- Palawan Chapter to provide a monumental surge of surgical intervention.

The Sui Generis Surgical Mission stood as a beacon of hope, extending an extensive array of essential medical services to those in need.

From intricate Head and Neck Surgery procedures to the subtleties of Breast Surgery, from the complexities of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery to the advancements of Laparoscopic Surgery, the mission showcased an unwavering dedication to addressing a diverse range of medical needs. Moreover, the comprehensive list of interventions included Ovarian Cyst Surgery, Hysterectomy, Thyroidectomy and Endocrine Procedures, Cholecystectomy and Biliary Surgery, Hemorrhoids and Anal Surgery, Hydrocoele Surgery, Varicocelectomy, and a spectrum of life-altering interventions such as Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Corrections, Cyst Removal, Myoma Treatment, Lipoma Excision, AV Fistula Surgery, and many more.

Amid the hustle and bustle of medical interventions, the air was thick with gratitude as the local community extended their heartfelt appreciation to the Sui Generis Mission team.

San Vicente Mayor Amy Alvarez, in particular, expressed her deep gratitude for selecting their municipality as the host of this life-altering event. The impact of the mission was palpable, as countless individuals received the medical care they had long needed, offering them a new lease on life and a brighter outlook for the future.

This momentous initiative marked the very first Surgical Mission organized by the esteemed Sui Generis group in Palawan, a meaningful milestone in their journey to provide medical assistance.

Their past successes in other parts of the country, including Cebu and Siargao, laid the groundwork for this ambitious endeavor. The Sui Generis team, consisting of 180 specialists and volunteers from Manila and Cebu, arrived armed with state-of-the-art surgical equipment, ensuring the utmost precision and care in every procedure performed.
