Over 500 families under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Palawan participated in orientation sessions aimed at enhancing their disaster preparedness.
These sessions, held in Taytay and Aborlan, saw the integration of disaster preparedness into the Family Development Sessions (FDS) with support from the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices of the respective municipalities.
During the sessions, beneficiaries learned essential skills and knowledge to ensure their readiness for disasters, including assembling emergency kits with essential items such as non-perishable food, water, and first aid supplies.
This proactive approach aligns with the program’s goal of making families “Listong Pamilyang Pilipino,” emphasizing prompt planning, knowledge, and readiness for evacuation.
In addition to disaster preparedness, discussions during the FDS covered various family matters, including Palawan Pawnshop’s “ProtekTODO Insurance” plans, offering flexible and affordable coverage for unforeseen circumstances.
Participation in the FDS remains a condition for beneficiaries to receive their grants, reflecting the program’s commitment to holistic family development.
