Palawan IATF, kumpiyansang hindi tataas ang kaso ng COVID-19 dahil sa isasagawang plebisito

COMELEC: Pagtaas ng COVID-19 cases sa Palawan, hindi rason para itigil ang plebisito

Kumpiyansa ang Hepe ng Palawan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office na hindi magiging ugat ng pagtaas ng kaso COVID-19 ang gaganaping plebisito kaugnay ng paghahati ng Palawan sa tatlong probinsiya.

“It’s a day activity and we will make sure na it’s like a normal movement din ng mga tao. It so happens lang na merong occasion na where everyone is going to participate at the same time in different places. Pero hindi namin inaasahan na makakaapekto ito o tataas ‘yung cases with this plebiscite. Hindi namin inaasahan na magkakaroon ng epekto ito sa pagtaas ng kaso.” Ayon kay Jeremias Y. Alili, Head ng Palawan Inter-Agency Task Force at Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management.

Aniya handa naman ang kanilang tanggapan kung magkakaroon man ng mga bagong kaso dahil mayroong mga protocols na susundin at hindi ito gaya ng dati na wala pang masyadong kaalaman ukol sa nasabing virus.

“If ever na magkaroon man, we are prepared na rin unlike the earlier months ng ating operation [where] we don’t know what to do kapag may [COVID-19] cases [pero] ngayon alam na natin kung ano yung kailangan nating gawin [at] kung papaano natin ico-contain kapag may mga situations.”

Dagdag pa nito na sisiguraduhin nila ang maigting na pagsunod ng mga tao sa ipinatutupad na health and safety protocols sa mga presinto kung saan boboto ang mga mamamayan.

“Sa amin sa provincial level, yung pag-adhere ng lahat ng voting public doon sa minimum health standard while in the polling places habang bumoboto. Yung ating role is to assure na ganun nga na nao-observe yung minimum health standard and social distancing.”

Magkakaroon naman ng pagpupulong ang IATF kasama ang mga Municipal Emergency Operation Centers (EOC) bilang paghahanda sa plebisito na gaganapin sa Marso 13, 2021.Sa pinakahuling tala, pumalo na sa 409 ang kabuuang bilang ng nagpositibo sa COVID-19 sa Palawan. 3 rito ang aktibong kaso, 402 ang gumaling na sa sakit at 4 ang binawian ng buhay.
