The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Palawan, together with local law enforcement, successfully raided a suspected drug den in Barangay San Manuel, Puerto Princesa, seizing an estimated β±425,136 worth of illegal drugs.
Authorities discovered 16 packets containing suspected drugs totaling 62.52 grams. Initially mistaken for ecstasy, six capsules found at the scene turned out to be the suspectβs heart medication, highlighting the complexities involved in these operations.
During the raid, the PDEA and other task force members also confiscated various drug paraphernalia, including aluminum foil, empty plastic sachets, and a digital weighing scaleβtools often associated with packaging and distribution.
According to officials, the seized items are crucial evidence that will support the case under RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, against the suspect.
