The printers are set up to provide convenient access to design and print resources needed by public school teachers all throughout the province.

“Karangalan ko pong makaisa kayong lahat ngayon sa pagkakataong ito sa paglilipat-kamay sa mahigit isang libong [printers] na ating binili sa pamamagitan ng Special Education Fund… Napakaganda ng pagkakataong ito dahil alam natin na mapakikinabangan ito ng ating mga mag-aaral at guro. Sa inyong lahat po, on behalf of the provincial government, it is my honor to officially relinquish possession and custody over these printers to our Department of Education Provincial Schools Division,” Palawan Governor Dennis Socrates said.

Different schools are to benefit from the said printers, which can be of great use in assisting them in the provision of work sheets and prints from textbooks to students.

The handover ceremony was attended by Governor Socrates, Vice Governor Leoncio Ola, and representatives from DepEd—Palawan. It was held in the Governor’s Conference Room at the Palawan Provincial Building on Wednesday, March 29.

In his address, DepEd Palawan Schools Division Superintendent Roger F. Capa, CESO VI, lauded the donation.

“On behalf of DepEd, I accept these 1,300+ printers, fully aware of the thoughtful concern behind them. Alam niyo po, ibinigay ito sa amin dahil sa marubdob na hangaring makatulong sa ating mga guro, sa ating mga paaralan, at lalo’t higit sa ating mga mag-aaral. And with this acceptance goes my assurance that every effort shall be exerted toward the fruitful utilization of each and every piece of equipment here at hand. Maraming salamat po,” Capa said.

The DepEd Palawan will oversee the distribution of the printers to schools across the province.

Among other guests during the turnover ceremony were Board Member Juan Antonio E. Alvarez, Provincial Gender and Development (GAD) Office Head Richard Winston Socrates, General Services Office (GSO) OIC Mercy M. Bontao, Provincial Budget Office Supervising Administrative Officer Ma. Isabel E. Guinto at DepEd Palawan Senior Education Program Specialist at Provincial LSB Secretary Daisy Anne P. Atrero.

Some short messages during the event were also given by the Office of the Governor Chief of Staff Ceasar Sammy A. Magbanua; Provincial Information Officer, Atty. Christian Jay V. Cojamco and DepEd Palawan School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) Chief Eric N. Quillip.
