Puerto Princesa City has recorded the highest number of dengue cases in the MIMAROPA region this year, based on the latest data from the Center for Regional Epidemiology & Technology Enhancement (CREATE) MIMAROPA).
From January to July 2025, the region reported a total of 4,337 dengue cases, representing a 66.42% increase compared to the 2,606 cases recorded during the same period in 2024.
Puerto Princesa leads the list with 1,190 cases, followed by:
• Coron – 715 cases
• Roxas – 333 cases
• Bataraza – 321 cases
• San Vicente – 242 cases
According to CREATE MIMAROPA, 26 dengue-related deaths have been recorded in Palawan, including Puerto Princesa, as of July 2025.
Local health authorities are reminding the public to eliminate potential mosquito breeding grounds, maintain cleanliness in households and communities, and seek immediate medical attention in case of symptoms such as high fever, rashes, and body pain.
The Department of Health (DOH) and regional health units continue to monitor the situation and conduct information campaigns to prevent further transmission.
