Two women sustained major injuries after their motorcycle crashed into a pick-up truck along National Highway, Sitio Mayligan, Barangay Iraan, Aborlan town around 4:30 PM on Wednesday.
A report from authorities identified the motorcycle driver as Wenona Dela Peña, 19-years old, student, with no driver’s license. The back rider was Irene Dela Peña, 22-years old, single, and both are residents of Barangay Sagpangan, Aborlan Palawan. The pick-up driver was Benito Cayaon, 60-years old, with driver’s license and a resident of Barangay Alfonso XIII, Quezon, Palawan.
Police investigation revealed that the motorcycle was traversing along the National Highway going north while the pick-up truck was traveling in the opposite direction and upon reaching the place of accident, the motorcycle suddenly maneuvered to the left and accidentally crashed into the pick-up truck.
As a result, the motorcycle riders fell on the concrete pavement of the road resulting in major injuries and were rushed into Aborlan Medicare Hospital. The driver of the pick-up truck, however, was unharmed.
The vehicles involved were brought to Aborlan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
