Individuals and companies with innovative ideas that seek support from government and private agencies for their start-up businesses were invited to the soft launching of Western Philippines University (WPU) Technology Business Incubation (TBI) program orientation held at CFAS Aquatic Science Laboratory (ASL) Building, Sta Monica, Puerto Princesa City, July 15, 2019.
The Technology Business Incubator was established to help new and startup companies to develop by providing services such as management training, office space, Business Development Services such as Marketing Plan, Marketing Analysis, Financial Management, Technical Training Services, Access/Link to Funding Sources, Coaching and Mentoring and Attendance to Networking and Promotional Events, Community Organization and Human Resource Management.
“I’ve always wanted to be a part of something that could bring positive change to society through Science and Technology. With the WPU-TBI, I believe bringing positive change to the society through S&T, with everyone’s collective efforts, would soon become a reality,” Carmela Mae M. Cervantes, Project Leader of TBI and IP-TBM, said.
Project Development Officer III Carl Luigi Cervantes shared the WPU-TBI objectives at the program orientation dubbed as Kanang Porturo: Technology Business Incubation(TBI).
He stressed that incubetees were at the right future with TBI objectives such as: To capacitate the Technology Business Personnel of WPU-TBI, Enhance promotion of products to potential buyers and market products, Identify and establish linkage and partnership among WPU-AF-TBI clients, Market and funding sources to sustain operations.
Participants at orientation program were encouraged to attend to develop their skills and be equipped through the next series of free training activities at WPU on July 24-26 for technical training and July 29 to August 2 for a week-long training completion of Business Marketing Plan, Financial Management, Bookkeeping, and Effective Communication with a certificate of completion and attendance.
