Agapito “Butch” D. Hontanosas III, Branch Head of Standard Insurance – Puerto Princesa, said that insurers need not worry because they will take care and facilitate the repair of insured vehicles.

He said that their customers can file claims through their branches or intermediaries such as agents, brokers and car dealers, and their call center or through online.

In terms of claims, it aspires to be fair, efficient, convenient, proactive in communication and, most of all, pleasant to deal with.

“Mabilis ang aming claims service at within 24 hours ay na. we have one-day turnaround time kaya kung na-accident ngayon ay bukas mapapa-ayos na. Kami ay isa sa pinaka-mabilis. Each branch  ay meron kaming claim handlers kaya ma-handle na sya. Basta kompleto lang ang requirements,” Hontanosas assured.

The requirements include the vehicle’s OR/CR, driver’s license, and the spot report of the traffic police or driver’s affidavit.

In their desire to attain a better customer satisfaction, it is their long-standing policy that all repairs should be undertaken at the dealer’s repair shop. Their claims-paying ability has been rated “A” by Global Credit Rating, a rating agency specializing in the global insurance sector.

Standard Insurance is the country’s leading motorcar and general fire insurance company in the country. Their mission is to provide excellent insurance products and services that are suited to the growing needs of the Philippine market.

They specialize into and are well known for insuring motorcar, commercial vehicles (trucks) motorcycles, commercial buildings such as malls, offices, hospitals, schools, residential buildings, marine cargo, travel and personal accident.

“Ang pinaka-latest namin na product ay itong 2 in 1 package kasama na ang sasakyan at bahay,” explained Hontanosas.

They are among the very few companies who are prepared for the catastrophic acts of nature. This has been achieved because Standard Insurance established financial arrangements with some of world’s largest and strongest reinsurance companies to ensure that we can settle large claims (in volume and in value) arising from catastrophic event such as typhoons. Therefore, they are providing the costumers with the best reinsurance protection in the industry.

Hontanosas said that their IT system designed by their in-house developers will enable them and their customers to easily access the transactions online and in real-time.

“Our system are all digital and online,” he said.

They are also flexible and can meet the unique claims servicing standards and requirements of their partners. Not only that, they can process and settle claims anywhere in the country.

The company owns a five-hectare technical and training center complex in Cavite province where their vehicles can be restored and configured.

“Kami lang ang meron nito sa lahat ng insurance companies,” he said.

Standard Insurance with main office located in Makati City was established on August 1, 1958 or 61 years ago. Currently, it has 60 branches all over the Philippines with 1,500 people whose dedication, professionalism and services delivery ensures that it they remained a valued brand.

World Finance, a United Kingdom based business publication recognized Standard Insurance as the best non-life insurance in the Philippines from 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018. The Department of Finance (DOF) also named them as Top1 motorcar insurance company with P1.12 Billion worth of paid-up capital.
