Popular wedding photographer and videographer Jessie Lebante of CookieMedia won numerous citations for his photos in a contest by Wedding Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP) under three major categories.
Under the fashion category in which he submitted three entries, his shot of Miss Canada Jasmine Paguio of Miss Tourism Beauty of the World in Tabon Cave in Quezon, Palawan won first place, and second place for his shot of Mayon Volcano with Ms. Myanmar – Shar Amara Soe, while his third entry made it to the top ten photos of the said level.
In the Teen category, he won second place out of the two entries he submitted, while on landscape level, his three entries made it to the Top Ten best shots.
Lebante said that he personally submitted printed copies of his photos to the group that was joined by many photographers in the country, it was meticulously deliberated by different photographer-members of the association, which is considered the biggest in the country so far.
According to its page, WPPP is an organization of professional photographers whose purpose is to promote and foster the goals and programs of Filipino wedding photographers. It was founded in 2001, and among its prestigious members are Lito Sy, Raymund Isaac, Xander Angeles, Jason Magbanua and many more.
No cash prize was involved in the competition but garnering a spot among the best photographers in the country means a lot for him.
This is not the first time he won a contest of WPPP. In 2018 he got the grand prize for wedding photos that made him a probationary member since then.
Lebante is already 16 years in the photography and video production industry in Palawan. The 39-year-old Davao native migrated to Puerto Princesa in 2002.
By 2007, he opened CookieMedia that became synonymous with many pageants, weddings, debut, and even promotional videos and documentary filming.
