The City Government of Puerto Princesa announced that their Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) from January 2, 2020 until January 20, 2020 will streamline the processing and renewal of business and mayor’s permits into three steps only, in a bid to continuously make it transactions become more business-friendly.

The establishment of BOSS will enable the city government to become compliant with Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018. The law prescribes the number of steps and days that should be complied with for the documents to be released.

Few days before Christmas, the city government conducted the dry Run of the BOSS at the ground floor of the New Green City Hall, in preparation for the business application and renewal this 2020.

The establishment of BOSS will gather different government agencies in one location for ease and convenience of the public, particularly the business establishment owners in Puerto Princesa City.

“This annual BOSS gathers under one roof all the government agencies to set up desks for permits or clearances needed to renew and apply for a business permit. These government agencies include the Bureau of Fire Protection, Pag-ibig, Philhealth, SSS, PNP, DTI, BIR and other City Government Offices where clients save time in going to these different offices to secure necessary signatures,” the city government said in a statement.

To make it easier and accessible to the public, the Business Permit Application Form can be also be downloaded.

Business friendliness and competitiveness is one of the assessment areas that local government units (LGUs) must pass in order to attain the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), a coveted award given by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to localities that exhibited excellent governance and delivery of public service. As an incentive, SGLG’s recipients will receive the SGLG marker; eligibility to the DILG Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) to finance the LGU’s local development projects; and priority access to other programs and capacity development assistance from the DILG.
