Petrosphere Incorporated, a one-stop-shop training, review and consultancy company based in Puerto Princesa City, continues to be the leading educational institution that provides health and safety training amid the pandemic due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“For a couple of months, we have struggled to provide face-to-face training in classroom due to restrictions. Even though we have not generated enough income to finance our operations, we’ve continued supporting everyone especially students and OFWs through free training online, including free webinars,” said Engr. Harthwell Capistrano, president and CEO of Petrosphere Incorporated.
In spite of the challenge the company has been facing due to pandemic, Petrosphere continues to operate and just recently acquired approval in conducting face-to-face training in Puerto Princesa City, in addition to the online training courses it offers.
Petrosphere is offering all the mandatory health and safety training courses required by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), which include the Mandatory Eight-hour Safety and Health (MESH), Basic Occupational Safety and Health for Safety Officer 1 (BOSH SO1), Basic Occupational Safety and Health for Safety Officer 2 (BOSH SO2), and Construction Safety and Health (COSH). Apart from these basic safety courses, Petrosphere is also conducting advanced safety training: Safety Program Audit (SPA), Loss Control Management (LCM) and Behavior Based Safety (BBS).
“The company has diversified its course offering and we have also oil and gas short courses, including soft skills training that are delivered online. We have also IELTS review and soon, NCLEX, CGFNS, and Prometric exam review classes. This year, we are planning to offer quality, environmental and integrated management system courses accredited by the PECB,” said Engr. Capistrano.
Being a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training Provider of the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC), Petrosphere has been engaging partnerships with different institutions, notably with Universitas Teknologi Petronas (UTP) based in Malaysia and also with OLLI Philippines, a consulting firm based in Makati. It has been supporting Palawan State University’s petroleum engineering department, as well.
“We thank all our clients, trainees and partners for their support in the last seven years. We look forward to a continued meaningful and productive partnership with you all. Most especially to our workforce, our trainers, consultants and employees who are very dedicated and hardworking, thank you very much!” Engr. Capistrano said.
Last 2019, Petrosphere received a Safety Excellence Award conferred by WASPI Inc.
