A total of 632 beneficiaries under the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) of the Palawan Provincial Government have received financial aid, a press release from Palawan Provincial Information said.
581 of the total beneficiaries have received medical assistance, where 31 were given burial assistance, 17 transportation assistance while 3 received financial aid for other necessities, according to the Provincial Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
The total amount distributed has reached P10,807,716. CIU is the general service provider of PSWDO, which aims to help indigent Palaweño families who have been hospitalized and in need of medical support and crisis affected Palaweños.
According to Abigail Ablaña of the PSWDO, CIU plays an important role in ensuring that financial aids are given to those who are truly in need of it.
“Ang pagkakaroon ng CIU ay napakalaking bagay para sa mas maayos na pagbibigay ng tulong pinansiyal man o anumang serbisyo para sa ating kapwa Palaweno,” Ablaña said.
CIU provides financial assistance amounting up to P100,000 medical assistance depending on their hospital or medical bills.
