Handa nang simulan ang ikalimang yugto ng “Save the Puerto Princesa Bays” program na gaganapin sa Liberty Quimzon, Purok Seaside – 2, Barangay Bagong Sikat sa darating na Sabado, Oktubre 14.

Noong Oktubre 12, nagtipon-tipon ang mga kinatawan mula sa Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), City DepEd, Western Philippines University (WPU), Palawan National School (PNS), ilang kapitan ng coastal barangays, mga miyembro ng lokal na media, at iba pang stakeholders para sa isinagawang coordination meeting. Pinangunahan ni Mayor Lucilo Rodriguez Bayron ang pulong upang humingi ng suporta para sa nalalapit na programa.

“Balita ni Atty. Carlo Gomez ng City ENRO na maganda ang pagbabago sa tests ng dagat dahil sa ating Save the Bays. Kaya kung itutuloy-tuloy natin ito at mapopondohan pa sa susunod na taon, mas magtatagumpay tayo sa pagsasalba at paglilinis ng ating karagatan,” saad ni Mayor Bayron.

Ipinakita rin ang dami ng basura na nakuha mula sa unang episode hanggang sa huling episode. Sa Brgy. Mandaragat, 4.1 tonelada ng basura ang nakuha; Brgy. Bagong Silang, 53.1 tonelada; Brgy. Pagkakaisa, 59.3 tonelada; at Brgy. Bagong Sikat, 96.26 toneladang basura.

Inaasahan na susuportahan ng mga mamamayan ang pagbabalik ng programa na nagpapakita ng pagmamahal sa kalikasan at pagtulong sa mga taga-coastal dwellers ng pamahalaang panlungsod.

Ang programa ay magsisimula alas singko y medya (5:30 AM) ng umaga, at magkasunod na susundan ng mga aktibidad tulad ng EM Mudball Throwing, Coastal Cleanup, at ang Scoop Baura Version 2.0 kung saan maaaring manalo ng premyo na aabot hanggang 40,000 piso.
