A new dormitory is set to be established at Palawan State University through the collaboration of the Rotary Club of Makati and the Angat Buhay non-governmental organization (NGO).
This project aims to provide essential accommodation for female high school students hailing from the most remote municipalities in the region.
It will also offer support to Palaweño families who are in need to ensure their children have the opportunity for quality education.
The #AngatBuhay Dormitory’s core objective is to support and enhance the educational prospects of students attending public educational institutions and state universities, particularly those who face unique challenges.
As announced by Angat Buhay, one of the key features of this initiative is providing free housing to students from geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA).
These students often face significant obstacles in pursuing higher education due to their remote locations.
The dormitory will bridge this gap, offering them a comfortable and secure place to reside while they pursue their studies.
Moreover, the project places a special emphasis on first-generation students. These are the individuals who are on the verge of becoming the first in their families to successfully complete their education, marking a significant achievement.
By extending a helping hand to these determined scholars, the initiative is paving the way for brighter futures not only for these students but also for their entire families.
This joint project is expected to make education accessible to those who need it most, illuminating the path to a better, more empowered future for Palaweño students who would otherwise face educational obstacles in their pursuit of knowledge.
