‘Agri-nihan’ promotes ‘Bayanihan’ farming culture

The alarming countrywide and global concern about food scarcity and wastage yield initiatives from various sectors across the country to boost agribusiness that teaches skills about sustainable farming techniques with aims to increase production and availability of vegetables and fruits in a specified area or entire regions.

A group of agribusiness enthusiasts made up of local farmers known as “Agri-nihan” uses social media platform and Youtube video channel to feature simple ideas about farming, technologies, new techniques, innovations in agribusiness, best practices, solutions and success stories of about farming and gardening to provide relevant information.

“Agri-nihan” means “Bayanihan sa Agrikultura” that bid to promote Bayanihan culture and camaraderie among Filipinos to improve the agriculture sector in the country. It aims to provide information about agriculture, business tips, entrepreneurial skills, sharing simple techniques, proven technologies, ideas, solutions to farm challenges, tips, success stories, and best practices and to inspire young generations to engage in agriculture.

“The mission is to create one million micro-farms and full-scale farms across the country. Phase 1. Information Education. We use social media such as Facebook and produce videos published on our YouTube channel as a platform to share information regarding agriculture. We also feature success stories of local farmers who earned more than enough to support their family daily needs. Their success stories served as inspiration for others to start their own agribusiness. You can support us by sharing our informative videos on YouTube. You may also subscribe and click the bell to be always notified whenever we upload our latest videos. Phase 2. Creation of SPACE Sustainable Micro Farm model. This served as a model farm where everyone can replicate and earn. S.P.A.C.E Small Productive Area in Controlled Environment. Phase 3. Creation of Association. The priority will be its members. Helping them develop their own SPACE micro-farm. Conducting training and seminars to develop their entrepreneurial skills. Phase 4. Served as a marketing arm for local farmers. Helping them sell their products at a reasonable price. They must earn what they deserve.  Bayanihan is the best Filipino culture. If we could bring back this trait, we can make a change in the agriculture industry. Together let’s help one another,” explained “Agrinihan” founder Emmanuelle Agas.

Mr. Agas also added the importance of agribusiness as a sustainable solution to provide long-term and a decent income to the family saying, “Kung may pera sa basura, mas lalong may pera sa Agrikultura.”
