CHO, isasara muna at ide-disinfect

Pansamantalang isasara sa publiko ang City Health Office sa Valencia Street matapos magpositibo sa COVID-19 ang isa nitong empleyado.

Ito ang inanunsyo ni City Incident Commander at Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Dean Palanca ngayong araw, July 24, sa isinagawang online advisory ng City Information Department kasunod ng kumpirmasyong may panibagong naitalang dalawang kaso ng COVID-19 sa lungsod.

Nagpositibo ang 59-anyos na kawani ng CHO. Nagpakita ng sintomas ang lalaki kung kaya isinailalim ito sa swab test at positibo ang naging resulta.

Maliban sa kanya may isang 61-anyos na Locally Stranded Individual na dumating noong July 17 mula sa Maynila ang nagpositibo din.

“Mayroon po tayo ngayong dalawang confirmed COVID case na naman. Ang dalawang cases po ay isang LSI o Locally Stranded Individual at isang local na ang ibig sabihin, dito po mismo nakatira sa ating siyudad ng Puerto Princesa,” ani Dr. Palanca sa isinagawang online advisory ng City Information Department.

“Simula po sa Lunes, mula July 27 hanggang July 31, Lunes hanggang Friday po ay sarado muna ang City Health Office na branch natin dyan sa Valencia Street para po sa ating decontamination procedures,” dagdag ng health official.

Dahil dito, sinabi rin ni Palanca na malaki ang magiging epekto nito sa kanilang trabaho dahil tatamaan ang kanilang mga doktor, nurse, midwife at iba pa.

Gayunpaman, sisikapin anya nilang muling makapagbukas sa mga susunod na linggo depende sa magiging rekomendasyon ng Incident Management Team at Local Inter-Agency Task Force dahil maging ang trabaho ng mga kawani ng CHO – Valencia ay apektado at hindi muna sila makakatanggap ng mga ika-quarantine doon.

“Nakakalungkot dahil ito pong local ay kasama po namin sa pamilya po ng City Health Office. Ibig sabihin, ang pangalawa po nating kaso ay nagta-trabaho po sa City Health Office na ang branch po natin ay dito sa Valencia Street,”

Samantala, matapos malaman ang resulta ay agad naman anyang ikinasa ang contact-tracing kung saan bukas, July 26 ay inaasahang maisailalim na sa swab test ang unang batch ng kanilang na-identify na nagkaroon ng close contact sa empleyado ng City Health Office na nagpositibo sa virus.
