Mahigit P39.3-M pondo para sa displaced tourism workers, nagamit na ba?

Nais malaman ni Puerto Princesa City Councilor Jimbo Maristela kung nasaan na ang bahagi ng 2021 Budget na nagkakahalaga ng P39,250,000 na inilaan na tulong para sa sektor ng turismo.

Aniya, sa ilalim ng nasabing pondo ay mayroong Cash-for-work Program para sa displaced tourism sector workers na nilaanan ng P29,250,000 at hiwalay pang P10 milyon para naman sa micro-business livelihood assistance for tourism sector.

Kaugnay nito, nais paimbitahan ng konsehal sa susunod nilang Question and Answer Hour ang mga kaukulang mga personnel mula sa Mayor’s Office, gayundin ang City Tourism Officer at ang Budget Officer upang maipabatid sa publiko kung nagamit na ang nabanggit na pondo. Dagdag pa niya, kung hindi pa ito nagagamit sa ngayon ay kailangan na itong magamit dahil marami ang nawalan o naapektuhan ng trabaho sa sektor ng turismo, kasabay ng pagpasok ng pandemya.

“Ginamit ko po itong Privilege Hour sapagkat katapusan na po ng Marso, wala pa tayong nababalitaan na natulungan natin sa sektor ng turismo sa pamamagitan ng pondo na ito,” ani Maristela.
