The Regional Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (RIATF)-MIMAROPA and the Regional Task Force (RTF) Against COVID-19-MIMAROPA agreed to the request of the City Government for the temporary suspension of travel from NCR plus transporting returning residents, APORs, ROFs, and OFWs, starting yesterday, March 28 until April 4, 2021.

In a Joint Resolution No. 01, series of 2021 released by RIATF-MIMAROPA and RTF-MIMAROPA, RIATF Chairperson, DILG Regional Director Wilhelm Suyko; RIATF co-Chairperson, DOH CHD MIMAROPA Regional Director Mario Baquilod and RTF Chairperson, OCD Chairperson Ruben Carandang concurred the request of the City Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (CIATF) through their joint online consultation on March 27.

Through a letter dated March 25, City Mayor Lucilo Bayron, chairman of CIATF, sent the said request due to the “alarming surge of cases” in Puerto Princesa City of which, 19 out of 23 recorded cases have originated from authorized persons outside residence (APORs) with travel history in Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, also included of the letter response from RIATF chairperson’s Office, Suyko enjoins the City Government of Puerto Princesa to strictly observe the parameters and regulation of the national government to prevent and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 , and ensure to provide the necessary assistance to all those affected due to the imposition of the said suspension of travel.
