A 64-year-old man was arrested by the City Police Station 2 operatives for illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions in Barangay Inagawan Sub.
The suspect was identified as Jonathan Tutizora, a resident of Sitio Tagbarungis, Barangay Inagawan Sub, this city.
PNP Station 2 Commander Police Captain Alevic Rentino said in an interview that they received a phone call from a concerned citizen asking assistance with regards to a person always seen around Purok Otso, Barangay Inagawan Sub with a gun.
Police immediately responded and conducted investigation in the area.
“May nag-report na concerned citizen at di umano ay nakikita nila ang suspek na laging may dalang baril at nakakabigay ng takot sa lugar nila sa Purok Otso. Agad kaming nagsagawa ng imbestigasyon at nang makumpirma ang report, nag-apply agad kami ng search warrant,” he said.
Upon getting the search warrant, city police proceed to the area and served the search warrant.
“Nung mag take effect ang search warrant, agad namin pinuntahan ang suspek sa bahay nito at naka-kumpiska kami ng tatlong home-made shotgun at mga bala,” Rentino disclosed.
Further investigation revealed that Tutirazo is a commander of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF)
“May nakalagay mismo sa harap ng bahay n’ya (Tutirazo) na s’ya ay battalion commander ng MNLF na nakalagay sa tarpaulin. Nung una, hindi naman namin alam ito. Kaya lang nabanggit ang MNLF ay dahil nakita sa bahay nila at actually, umamin naman s’ya at ipinakita pa nito sa amin ang ID n’ya ng MNLF,” Police Capt. Rentiono added.
The suspect is now under the custody of City Police and a case of Violation of Republic Act 10591 or Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition will be filed against him.
